What is a StarCast eLearning Portal?
A StarCast eLearning Portal is a personalized, secure, online training location where your medical sales reps, employees, and physicians log in to:
- Launch online training courses
- Download documents
- Complete tests and surveys
- View movies
- Electronically sign off on content (eSignature)
- Join webcasts
Types of StarCast eLearning Portals
StarCast offers three unique eLearning portals. Each portal is structured for the particular individual or group that it serves.

New Hire Training Portal
New hires log into a New Hire Portal that is specifically designed to meet their eLearning needs on their first day. The layout is simple, prescribed, and mandatory. Once a new hire completes the online training content on the New Hire Portal, he or she then “graduates” to the Sales Training Portal where ongoing online elearning can begin.

Sales Training Portal
Seasoned Sales Reps (or employees) login to a Sales Training Portal that contains a mix of mandatory assignments with specified due dates, library items they can study at their own pace, and webcast listings that enable them to join live online meetings. Every Sales Rep has his or her own Sales Training Portal which contains online training content specific to their job or responsibilities that you have “pushed” to them.

Physician Portal
Physicians login to a Physician Portal and are greeted by an online learning center that allows them to search out training content for a particular medical device they purchased or information regarding a topic or medical procedure that your medical device organization may specialize in.

The Right Information To the Right People

You (or a designated StarCast administrator) build and “push” the online training content that users access on their customized online portals. “Push” is StarCast terminology for sending out online training courses, tests, surveys, documents, and movies to individuals or groups via StarCast elearning portals. When specified content is pushed to portals, it is made available to the logged-in user through a summarized listing. Your medical device training content can be pushed to a single individual or an entire group.
StarCast elearning portals ensure that the right people get the right information. Just as important, each elearning portal is a “logged-in space,” so everything a sales rep or physician does within the environment is tracked and documented.
